As we planned our Leadership CORPS May 13, 2022 Learning Day centered on Building Safe Communities, we set out to reimagine the conversation on this sensitive topic.

Special thanks to the REACH Coalition and Foster City Police Chief Tracy Avelar who were instrumental in helping us design a program that incorporated multiple voices and perspectives.

It was a day filled with information, hard statistics, some hands-on experiences, and real conversation about where we stand in San Mateo County and what a Safe Community looks like, sounds like, and feels like.

Our Leadership CORPS Class of 2022 brought their collaborative spirit, their inquiring minds and their full hearts to this important topic.
